Vortex question #1

Post by michaelrbauer »

I have purchased a new vortex and now the questions begin...
1 if I "cock" the crossbow in the morning will it hit the same point at the beginning of the day as at the end of the day ?
2 If the temperature in the am is 20 deg and in the pm is 60 will it hit in the same place?

Congrats on your new bow!! :D
I shoot the ibex and have had no problem with my bow being dead nutz on after being cocked for several hrs in a tree stand !!
As for temp changes...it doesn't get any more drastic than south ga. In oct. and nov. !!!
The two deer I killed this year I harvested on the same day !!
The spike in the a.m was in the low 30's...doe in the p.m was in the upper 60's !!!
The excal was dead on!!! Your vortex should be no different !!
Good Luck !!

Excaliburs are pretty consistant no matter what temp changes they are subjected to. The one exception is very high heat.
- Dont do that.
Keep the limbs away from very high temperatures or you may have limb damage. Dont store in the trunk of a car during a heat wave and dont hang it up over the fireplace and she will treat you well for a lifetime.

Generally speaking, yes. Point of impact is affected by humidity and even barometric pressure but both are very minor. String stretching until it breaks in will have the biggest affect.

The heat issue one add on if driving from spot to spot do not put it near the heat source of your vehicle have been some cases where that was enough to damage one limb.
I have shot mine in the stupid cold and the summer no issues.
