The hole in the grip area is a sound chamber,so that you can "TUNE" your bow! Beautiful stock by the way.

OK! I guess I can not keep this a secret anymore. The hole is for a gas cartridge for Don's self cocking device. Thats the reason for the slots on the side of the stock. The device works on a gas and the vents are a release for the gase. Sorry I can't say any more at this time because of patent infringment reasons. :HUSH! HUSH!
