i used that plasti-dip and it goes on very very thin each coat and comes off super easy....i put it on some alum R/C tool handles for better non-slip grip and i used 6 coats to get a nice thick coverage  ....in a high wear area like a xbow stirrup it will come of after 1st use is my bet.........bob

FYI, here is the answer of the local Line-X dealership :

"Applying Line-x to your crossbow stirrup should be possible, I anticipate the the job falling into our minimum shop charge ($89) price range.

If it's convenient, you can drop off the stirrup and pick up the following day. "

Like I said earlier, I used the stuff that rolls on with a roller that's made out of some strands of woven stuff. It's held up being beat pretty good on my 4 wheeler and at a fraction of the cost of a professional job. I'm thinking less than $30. There's enough in the can to do a pile of them. I think it's a quart can. The spray cans look like junk. My 2cents : )

A 4"piece fuel hose with a slit cut along it will push over the end of the stirup to protect it, and will quieten the bow down too.

Doesnt that kangaroo leather make your x-bow jump around while you are trying to shoot it?

I use camo form wrap. I have used it for years and don't have a scratch on my stirrup. This stuff is like an ace bandage and only adheres to itself and will not leave a sticky residue. You can get it out Cabela's or online. You cannot beat it!!
Don't put off till tomorrow what you can do today!

I like the leather idea. I'm going to give it a shot with some heavy calf hide.

EDIT : in the meantime, it's Camo Duck Tape !

That's to bad the shop fee is that much! I would see if they could work it in following a job or work order. It would only take maybe 4oz of part A&B to cover the Stirrup.
I'm involved in making the material for Line-X. That's a great idea this is the way I might approach it.
I would take Limbsaver Insulator Strips apply them to the outside sides, not the bottom of the stirrup for vibration purposes,
then have the stirrup sprayed. Just might work? Anyone know a good patent lawyer?
