Question about Dissapator Bars.

Post by cevans »

With the addition of the S5 String Shock Sound Supression system, would it be adverse to remove the dissapator bars? As I am looking to lighten the bow any way I can? Right now, bow weighs 8.6 lbs with scope, S5 system, no quiver or arrows on it. And I figure I could get it down to 8 even or maybe a dash more. However, on a Exomax,,would I be hampering the sound suppression by removing the dissapator bars i wonder? I plan on removing them eventually and seeing how the performance is, but waiting on the washers from Excal and I know everybody there is busy with trade shows like myself. Just wanted to hear everybody's opinion on this from their past experience.

I called excal and asked the same question about my Vortex and was told it could be done
the lost would be 3db in sound. Along with the washer as you said you'll need a shorter bolt I was
told.

I took mine off the Phoenix and used the same bolt with no issues I run a string stopping device instead.
But you will need to source some beveled washers
