Yet another new bow hunter

Post by cmawdsley »

Hi everyone,
I've just purchased my first crossbow, primarily to extend the deer season.
I bought the Exocet 200, after hefting the range of 175 to 225 # bows in both traditional and thumbhole stocks. I like the way it feels and this old man can cock it comfortably with the rope aid.

I've been culling the forum this morning for sage advice, and I'm quite impressed with the quality of information and the friendly manner it is imparted in.

Now I just have to find a target to get some trigger time in.

Excellant choice on your bow!! I have a 200# also...the vortex, wicked fast and oh so deadly!!!
Word of advice...once you get her dialed in, DON'T shoot at the same spot twice...arrow's get expensive!!!!
Good Luck!

Welcome to the forum

Lots of good targets out there or make your own

I used a feed bag stuffed with rags, only good for field tips though.
