Hi Vix-----I have been where you are now -- a few times ---and it never gets any easier-- but they are not suffering
any more----we are --but the dull ache eventually turns into very pleasant memories.

Monika,

You are in the same place I was at almost exactly this time last year. My heart goes out to you all and, trust me, it does get better. What brings you sorrow right now will turn into warm memories that you will fondly carry in your heart forever. What you are presently feeling is a testament to your fine character as a dog owner and the wonderful life you provided to your four-pawed family member.

Derek

Mine was 15 years old and had a stroke in February 09 and managed to get it together while at the vet. She lasted until the next Christmas when I took her to the vet and he said her time had come.

It was a difficult day to say the least.

My condolences.

Vix

Thanks for sharing this with us, as you can see many of us gone through this with our best friends as well and it does not get any easier, yet we seem to go down the path over and over again. I guess that says something about the special time we get to spend with them.

My condolences.
