I asked the same question not long ago. I was told to warm the cheekpiece and use a mallet to line up the screw hole. I warmed mine on my furnace hot air register it snaped into place ,tapped it with a mallet to line up the screw hole. Hope it helps John

Mine was tight to install.. As for the holes alligning up , my Vortex had no hole so I let it go at that and went
thru summer shooting and a hunting season and never moved or came off...

The cheekpiece is difficult to put on and it needs to be. If it was loose then it would be prone to wobbling while shooting if it wasnt' screwed in. As for adjusting it while it's on the bow, I used a short piece of 2x4 and tapped it GENTLY with a mallet to move it slowly with no problems. Glad to hear everyone got their cheekpieces on nicely.

Simple. Padded bar clamp with big enough opening to fit stock. Snaps right on.
Vortex, Phoenix, single-shot rifles and handguns.
Incurable tinkerer.
Why hunt? Simple, it's BASIC. Why breath?!

Good one, Cossak. Usually if you look around the shop long enough and think outside the box, something will make life easier.
