The price for Rage broadheads at Bass Pro is $10 cheaper then I can get them locally.
They are $50 for 3 at the stores I have been to recently!
Figures I'd have to like the most exspensive ones available!!

I need a fresh pack before deer season rolls around too.

The most expensive ones are the ones that you lose.

I can't see titanium having any advantage over stainless steel blades that are already "razor sharp". If you were to compare titanium coated drill bits to black oxide jobber bits I would take the black oxide ones anyday. Resharpen a titanium coated bit and say bye bye to the coating.

I can't believe they charge extra for titanium, the biggest advantage of titanium is the strength and still being liteweight.stainless steel is just as strong but not as lite. Talk to any snowmobiler, the reason we pay, Outrages prices for titanium is the weight factor. Sorry, I for one cannot justify the extra cost in a arrow head, can live with the weight.IMHO

The Rage Titanium is probably the most common I've seen. The Titanium is used for the ferrule. I can see a need for it on the Rage. I quit shooting the 3-blade model due to the lack of durability. After one shot the blades would nick the aluminum ferrule and potentially prevent the blades from deploying on any future shot. Maybe making the ferrule out of Titanium would correct the problem.

In either case, I can get three packs of 2" Hammerheads or 1.5" Sidewinders off eBay for the cost of one pack of the Rage Titanium. I toss to many arrows to shoot expensive heads.

As much as I like to give my business to the "little" guy when it all gets boiled down you do save a fortune by heading to the Box store but at least when I shop at the little store I usually get a little free info too. If I go to BPS, todays archery guy was yesterdays camping guy. :(
I agree with you there planter but the Canadian Bass Pro closest to me is about 4 hours away so unless I'm up to Toronto for some reason I won't be going there. There is a Bass Pro about an hour away in Michigan that I go to on occassion if the wife and brats need to go shopping for stuff over there. But even then it costs $5 to cross the border each way and my gas so no real savings there. Not to mention that I'm super impatient when I decide to buy something and if the local guy has it I usually fire over and pick it up after work if he has it. Dang impulse buyer I am!!
