I got A Strange Problem

We've had 15+ birds die in our yard within the last week.All different kinds,blue jays,robins,black birds.We find a new one dead every day It seems like.Theres a few in the neighbors yard but mainy ours.And we just found out the people who live down the road a hundred yards or so had all their fish die in their pond,over 50 fish..I thought that was strange too.I dont know if their connected in some way???What would be causing this?

I would call the game dept. and have them take care of this, not good

Well I just found out my Brother called the ODNR and they said to leave the birds and they would be out to collect some of them and look at the pond.He said this is the 3 report of birds dying in larger numbers.All have come from our county but he wouldnt give out any more info.I hope deer dont drink from the pond,its only 50 yards from my main hunting spot...

Sorry to hear about the wildlife. Hopefully nothing serious. Where you at in Ohio? I am in Xenia, Ohio.

A few of years ago thousands of dead birds were found around a small fishing town in my state. Local goverment kept coming up with stories suggesting it was unknown "natural" phenomenon.
In the end it ended up being "lead dust" contamination in many of the towns water holes and tanks. Although its not a mining town, turns out lead pellets were trucked to the port, then loaded to be shipped away. Birds were first to die, eventually people got sick before the truth come out. Pays to keep your eyes open to possible man made contaminents.
Hopefully for you its nothing too serious.

Notify your local public health department that you are concerned about human exposure to what ever the animals where exposed to!

The more attention that you bring to this issue will assist you in getting it addressed promptly.
