I`ve already sent my e-mail to my MP . Holding him personally to the promise of getting rid of the long gun registry .
I suggest everyone send an e-mail to make each one of them accountable .

Glad to see the long gun registry is finally going. Back when it all started I and a young guy from the University of Waterloo Carl Phillips started the
Tri Cities Firearms Alliance. I don't know if any of you out there remember that. Myself and Carl went around to different gun clubs and talked about
what we could do.
We had a couple of meetings up at the Bow shop attended by people in the trade. I remember Keith Lovett, Bill and Kathy, George from the Bow shop,
and reps from different gun clubs being there. I even went to see Andrew Telegdi the Lieberal MP a couple of times in his office. I must say without exaggeration that it didn't take me long to realise
that I was dealing with what can only be described as a Buffoon.
It appears that finally we can see the light at the end of the tunnel after over 20yrs, and 2 trips to Ottawa.
Funny thing is I decided at the start of the year, I have killed enough animals and birds and have no desire to continue hunting myself, but look forward to
reading all the adventures on the forum.
I do have an inclination to do some rifle target shooting though.
One thing I would like to see is, that it is made legal for women to carry pepper spray in their purse for protection if they so desire. I think it is
something worth thinking about.

I carry "dog spray" when I'm out walking my dog. It's pepper spray, but it's labeled "dog spray". I carry it as insurance against off-leash dogs (or even on-leash dogs) attacking my dog. It was something I started doing when I had two Airedales on a leash - they don't start fights, but they will certainly finish them. It gave me peace of mind.

I wished I'd had it in my previous life when I did a lot of cycling on country roads - can't count the number of times I got caught trying to sprint uphill to get away from loose farms dogs that enjoy harassing cyclists. I'm 70 lbs heavier now and there's no way I could sprint like that anymore.

I was there for those meetings. I remember Bill, Kath and George but I can't recall off-hand who the others where that attended. I remember it being a very motivated bunch.
