Hey folks!

There's a 3D shoot at Oxford Fish and Game this Sunday. 10 a.m. shotgun start. Marked shoot (distances to target are provided - but don't be fooled into thinking that it makes it all that much easier! lol)

Map/directions:

http://oxfordfishandgame.ca/index.php?a ... a=page;p=2

If you've never shot 3D this is a great way to get into it. Any 3D shoot helps develop the distance-judging skills, but a marked shoot will let you know just how close your guess-timation is.

If this is your first shoot, come look for the gal with the bright pink hip quiver and say HI! Tim & I can introduce you to any other forum members that might attend and we can help you find a fun group to shoot with.

We're looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and getting to know some new ones!

Terry - See ya there!!!

We're planning on bringing Ben. He's looking forward to it! He won't be shooting, but he enjoys walking the course with us and all the goofing off we do.

If I didn't have to drag along two kids, one being 10-months-old, I'd come out too. But, my wife starts her next shift block that day. Have fun!

I hope to see you guys there! My Dad is coming down from Detroit so it will depend on when he leaves. My wife may shoot too, and of course we will have our 3 kids.

Thanks Terry - very sweet of you to offer! Ben has one, but not very proficient yet and gets frustrated with the bow. He might bring it to pretend with - I'll let him decide. He's a leftie, but in school this past year he's been confused by trying to use his right hand and it's been a set-back. I'm not impressed with the school!

I'll try to remember to bring along the awesome knife from DaGrizz - remind me to show it to y'all on Sunday!

Would love to make it out and meet some of you folks but I am gone away this weekend with my dad and our ladies on the boat.
Headed to Sarnia for the weekend.
I'm gonna make it out one of these times.....really I am!! :D

A marked distance shoot would be a great way to go for a first time out too!

Hey Vix,

I may just ride my bike out around lunch time to have a visit, need the exercise & I have not touched a bow in over a year so that will be the only way I will be there.

Dont laugh to hard when you see a grey bearded old fart in spandex

Hope to see you there! You must be happy to have that chaos gone (almost) from in front of your house...

Was a great shoot, as always!

Oxford has great targets - lots of Reinharts that made for nice shooting and retrieving.

The course itself is interesting. Varied terrain, sun & shade, up & down.... (makes me realize I'm out of shape. )

Although it's a marked course, it's still a good challenge. Tim took 2nd place in the Men's xbow - HAPPY FATHER'S DAY! :D My scores weren't my best but I managed to hold my own in the women's xbow class.

Was great to see some other forum members out - especially Munch's family who went home with a stash of hardware! CONGRATS to all!

Image

Also was nice to meet up with Kirk and his wife who biked 35 km to meet forum folks as we schlepped off the a.m. course for lunch break. Sorry, I forgot to get a photo of you both!

Was a great day! Kudos to the organizers who put in a huge amount of work to set up all the targets, clear the lanes & trails, and then clean everything up again after the shoot. Food was awesome! If you've shot at Oxford you'll know that the "lunches" are more like catered dinners! Thanks to all who do the work so we can play!

A skunk target - peee-ewww! :D

In case anyone is "wondering where the lions are".... we found one!

Still has some smiles in him toward the end of the afternoon course:

Great way to spend Father's Day together!

It looks like it was a great time there for everyone. Vix I can see who Ben takes his looks from. He looks like his mom. He looks like he enjoyed himself. That is so nice to see the whole family involved. Thanks for the info and pics. I guess Munch and the gang was wearing some hardware.
