my wife and my daughter and I have looked at this thread many times and what we all agree on is that Spike had a wonderful life. It is obvious that he was very happy. The last pic of him boinging thru the corn stubble is great you can see him smiling..

It made me love on my doggies even more this eve. Thanks for the pics RJ. Your family will be in our thoughts.

I don't know you RJ, but all dog lovers are good folks. I do know how you feel right now with the loss of a best buddy. My best buddy beagle, Tanner, had to be put down at just 4 years old due to a ruptured disc that left him paralyzed. That was 3 years ago and I still miss him and think of him often.

Sorry to hear about Spike Rick,he was quite a character.
I will always remember one time on Pelee island when you and I were walking along the side of one of the canals. Spike was on the ground and a pheasant came out of the grass along the side and was running. Spike gave chase for a while. The pheasant stopped and turned and looked at Spike. Spike stopped, and they stared each other down for a second or 2, then Spike turned and came running back as fast as his little legs would take him.
Thats a memory I certainly will never forget.

Ohh man... so sorry to hear about Spike.

Definately never easy.

But you were both very fortunate. Spike gave you much joy, made you laugh, was a wonderful companion in the outdoors and the home. And I'm sure you gave him the same joy and friendship you recieved. Can't ask for anything better.

Take care Rick.

So sorry for your loss RJ. Dogs are such good folk and like said before, I think we enjoy being with them more than some ppl. I don't know of any body who doesn't have a heartwarming story about a dog! :D Those that don't are missing a very special part of life, Spoke looked like he had lots of character ! 8)
