AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by new2xbow »

OK, so that beauty of a hunting spot i was bragging about the other day.... It is apparently a chigger hot bed.... I forgot how annoying those little buggers can be!!!!!!! Just a reminder for you folks, I had hunted all over this property and never had a prob with anything but mosquitoes, so i wore a mosquito repel pin-on while setting my stand, so no matter what you are used to in a hunting area be take precautions.. I am just glad it was only chiggers and nothing worse RMSF (rocky mountain spotted fever) is common here in NC.

I had to google them too. I've heard of them but never seen them. Nasty little devils!

Make yourself a "sulfur sock". Get a small bag of sulfer at the feed store and pour it into an old(no holes) sock.Tie the top of the sock off.If you take the sock by the top and tap it against your pants legs and boots up to about knee high you wont have many chiggers. You can store the sock in a zip-lock baggie in your truck and have it with you all the time. Dont leave home without it.It will save you a lot of misery,I promise. We have lots of chiggers here in Texas.

I dont know how the deer will handle it. I honestly havent ever done it deer hunting, but use it in all my preseason prep work.Usually by fall the little buggers arent so bad.
