Second day Georgia doe

Post by theoldarcher »

Second day of deer season here in NW Georgia and success. Had a doe come in around 8:30 this morning followed by a yearling. I took her at 24 yards, slightly quartering to me and it her in the back part of the right shoulder, arrow didn’t pass through, but she hit the ground like she had been hit by a sledge hammer. The two blade meat seeker did a number on her. :D The only bad part is she trashed my arrow, now I have to get another one. :D :D

I don't remember a September being this cool so early. It has the deer moving here. I have also noticed that we have the best acorn crop that I can remember in many years, of course it's kind of hard not notice the acorns because the dang squirrels are throwing them out of the trees and hitting me in the head with them (ouch) :x and all of them are about the size of a quarter.
