Here's the deal!

Post by DaGriz »

I can't afford to by a replacement camera so I offer this up for your consideration. I will trade a one up Damascus or Carbon steel knife for a new Bushnel Trophy 8mp camera. If any one is interested, please let me know. They sell for $150.00- $170.00 on Ebay

Thanks

Griz

Suggestion.

I wish I could afford the knife, but I can't. :(
How about a raffle @ $10.00 a chance??????

You might make enough profit to replace more than the camera.

If you decide to go with the raffle - I'm in!

Darrel, I know you believe in trade.

You've given so much in the past, so don't feel like you have to trade a knife to receive. Now it's your turn, let those who feel the need to repay you "in trade", to do so.

Darrel, I have a great idea. Let's play a game of STFU! It's your turn, so STFU Bro and let US do something for you :)

PS: It is one of my favorite games second only to "Watch Daddy take a nap!" which I loved, but my kids hated LOL

Although a decent idea, an auction to benefit me is no quite kosher. Maybe somebody will make me a trade.

Darrel,
I love your knives, but I can't afford to buy the BTC to trade with you.
However, if I can find five forum members willing to "trade" $35 each for one of my personal custom flemish twist strings (shown below), for a total of $175 US, I will "trade" you the $175 for your knife.

DaGriz, you not only gave me a knife, you pm'ed me later and said that you felt bad because it was a small knife, and sent me a SECOND knife!! That is such incredible generousity. Please let us on this forum act in the native American tradition and give back for something that we have all ready been given. We just want to help in your current situation. Thanks

I would like to add, I wrote this for this occasion and will send it signed to whomever winds up purchasing Darrel's Knife. As an added incentive, if the purchaser has a hunt or an occasion they wished memorialized, I would be happy to transpose such into verse for them: be it story format or poem. I have no money, but offer this in grattitude to those who may for helping out Bro Darrel.

Trophy of a Lifetime

Upon one brisk Autumn day
deep in the woodland wilds
in the one hand my trusty Excalibur
in the other that of my blessed child
Oh, surely there is no greater joy
afforded from Him residing up above
than to be armed with so fine a weapon
whilst arm and arm with the son I love

So it is we sat together as One
me whispering nuggets of Native lore
my son would silently nod his head
not daring to make a sound anymore
for he knew the deer would hear
he also knew their ability to see
he had learned those things true
just as my Dad had taught them to me

Leaves cascaded about our blind
caught in the throes of slight wind
we followed their fall with wonderment
lost and adrift far from all other men
thus it came with mild surprise
a buck seemed to suddenly appear
his antlers filled both of our eyes
as he slowly walked ever so near

Tis then he stopped dead in his tracks
looking directly at where we both were
though my son and I didn't dare breathe
his obsidian orbs somehow saw us there
time seemed to still as we all just stared
each of us lost in the moment of all
I then shouldered my trusted companion:
and together we watched him flee into the Fall.

BeerNutz, it's good to see that there's interest in my proposal. As I see it, it can be a "Win-Win" opportunity, where all the participants can benefit.

However it is contingent first, on "DaGriz's" approval, and second, on finding four other members of the same mind-set.

If this idea does fly, and when ALL the five "traders" are found, they can then send the funds through PayPal directly to Darrel. When Darrel notifies me that he has received the funds, and sends me your mailing info, I will promptly mail out the strings to the five participants.

Well folks, like I said, this offer was contingent on Darrel's approval. FYI, I just received a PM from him stating that AgingCrossbower has started a fundraiser for him, and although he appreciates my offer, he prefers to go that route.

So I have to respect his wishes.
