I do it all the time with my ExoMax in my ladder and hang-on stands. I typically have my bow cocked with no arrow loaded before I leave the ground. I re-cock it while in the stand after any shot. I've tossed more than one arrow on quite a few occasions.

I always cock it while standing. I've never even considered trying to cock my ExoMax without my foot firmly planted on the stirrup against a solid backstop.

I always cock mine when I'm in the stand, but only after my fall protection harness is secured to the tree. My lock on stands are all about this size. I push up the seat first. I've got long arms and keep my center of gravity leaning back against the tree. Don't do this if you have bad balance. You and/or your crossbow can fall out of the tree. I've also cocked it while sitting down and not wanting to spook the other turkeys. Be careful.
