Shot me a doe Saturday night!

Post by Riflemanz »

I had a doe walk in Saturday night at 6:40pm behind my ladder stand, she walked by at about 30yds and i shot and heard a Thawack and thouht i hit the shoulder, the deer jumped about 10' and ran away.I waited til morning and had my friend and his 5yr old son come join the tracking. At first i had good blood and then after 100yds it went to drops every 20yds and then we lost the track. We did a sweeping pattern and i must of walked 5 miles in and out.My friend left his jacket at the last blood site so he went back to get it and found more blood. His 5yr old son then found my deer.I walked right by her at 20yds and didn't see her .I was really happy to find this deer. She was hit in the brisket with a 3 blade spitfire 100gr head and it did it's job.The deer broke the bolt off on a tree. Here are the pic's!It took 3hrs to find her.The entrance wound is on the lower leg.I got lucky finding this one.

I'm not sure Mark, but I'd bet a tenpoint crossbow. There are several members on the forum with different types of crossbows. For myself the list is two vixens one ibex and one tenpoint. We all favor excaliburs but welcome crossbowers in general. :D

I know, I know it's a 10pt crossbow.I liked the accudraw built onto the stock and i didn't have to remove it to shoot. This is my first crossbow after i blew out two disks in my neck,no pulling to cock with a rope for me.
I really like excaliburs web site! :D

He probably thought a happy meal was way better than a backstrap if he's like my son.

Way to go on the doe!!
*PRETTY IN PINK, DEADLY IN CAMO!

*In the fall I get to kill em in the rut, but in the spring I get to watch em strut.
*You can take the girl outta woods, but you can't take the addiction outta the girl!
*Can't kill anything sitting on the couch.
