Axiom Smf Scope

Post by dork »

Hello:

i was wondering i have bought a axiom smf package..i had the exomax when it first came out and made a stupid mistake and sold it to shoot compounds the last couple years..with no success..lol can anyone tell me before i take it out to the stand if this scope is sufficent or should i go and buy the lumizone or the other expensive one.the deer i seem to get comin in are at the magic hour just before dark and i just want to know if this scope with the package does gather enough light??

I have a hard time seeing the little cheverons at dusk but the scope and main crosshair are plenty bright enough, so I aim about 3 " high at 30 yards and I don't shoot farther than that at dusk. Hope this helps.

I took a 30 yd shot at my target using my 20yd crosshair just to see how much of a difference there was & it wasn't more than 2". 2" low of where I aim=Deer in Freezer.

I got the Axiom SMF package too, first year with an Xbow. The scope is sufficient for hunting. Spoiled myself over the years with high-dollar scopes on my rifles though. The scope that comes with the Axiom is no Pentax as far a optics, and light gathering, but then it doesn't cost $450 either. I'm going to finish the season and might look at other scopes before next year if there is any money in the kitty.
