Does anyone use 2213 shafts for Xbow?

Post by Migabby »

I just got 15 used Easton 2213 Super Slam arrow shafts. from a guy who bought a new Vert. Bow. Do any of you use these, and how hard is it too get Nocks and weighted inserts?

I use 2215s with 100gr points or 2213s with 125gr points - almost the same total weight. :D

Use inserts for nocks and don't get caught up in the excitement to spend $$$ for weighted inserts to increase FOC. They shoot very accurately without them.

I use them, making some up now, I use alum inserts both ends I cut a insert down for a nock and I also use feathers, but I also like lite so you may have to heavy up on your bh if your in to the heavy foc thing

I have taken many deer with the 2213 aluminum, regular 2213 inserts on both ends. Like Wes, I cut the rear inserts down to increase FOC.

The first thing I thought about was that these are going to need some nose weight. I'll make a few up with 2" Blazers and give them a Try.

I do the same thing as Wes and Norm, I cut down aluminium inserts for the nocks. I use a 150 gr. Bolt Cutter broad head and they shoot fine.

My son does on a Excal Wolverine with plastic rear inserts and aluminum front insert to increase FOC.

He uses 100 grain mag slick tricks.
They are light and dead accurate but I would not shoot them with my exocet 200. I think they might be just a little too light.

Less than half of the insert can be cut off. I keep my grain scale handy and a Dremel ready to uniform the inserts in weight when custom building my arrows.

I use aluminum inserts straight out of the package for both ends.

One thing I failed to mention was that 2213s are a bit more easily bent than 2215s or heavier shafts. Not a big problem, but be very careful when pulling them out of a target. I always use a Dan Miller puller when shooting foam targets! Grip them close to the target, give them a twist to break them free, then pull STRAIGHT back to remove them.
After a hunting shot I remove the broadhead and look through the arrow (through the holes in the inserts) at a bright light. It should look like the rings on an old type bullseye target. If the arrow is bent the "rings" will appear thick on one side and thin on the other. If in doubt I screw in a field point and check them for accuracy.

Used them before and as mentioned worked great.
I shot them with the regular front and rear aluminum inserts not cut down.
Had 4 inch Duravanes on them and they were very accurate and fast.
