New to the Crossbow world

Post by deathbybolt »

I just signed up to the forum the other day and I thought I would post my first story.
I have been Vert bow hunting for the last 32 years and have been very successful over that time. The last few years have been a struggle with shoulder issues. So earlier this year I spent a few months reseaching new vert bows and crossbows. Each shop had a different outlook on the two. Finally it was time to make up my mind.
I went with the Ecal Equinox and I am very happy with my decision. I dialed it in to shoot the Rage CB 125's. Which after reading the Forum the last month or so I became very nervous about the choice of Broadhead.
Anyways I am not as nervous now. 2 weeks ago I harvested a doe broadside@ 20 yds complete pass through (double Lung) and stuck in the ground about 8 inches. Doe ran about 25 yards.
This past Sunday was a 6 point, a heavy quarter away shot at 15 yds.
Again complete pass through and into the ground, he stumbled about another 15 yds and fell over.
Both were great entrance and exit wounds, broken ribs and Spray painted blood trails.
I have not figued out how to post pictures yet. Other wise they would be here.
Hopefully I will have few more chances this season to post again.

Congrats on the bow. The broadhead of your choice should be the one you are comfortable with and confident in. Everyone has their own favorites :)

Welcome to the forum. Congrats on your new Equinox and your hunting success with it. The bow and broadhead are both great choices. :)

He is not the king of the woods, but the straps will be great on the grill.
