We meet in the woodland scene
when leafs first fade from green
two souls on a collision course:
Come my way
most elusive prey
let's share in Fate's discourse.

I am armed with weapon strong
you are fitted with ears so long
a nose that senses withal:
Let the game begin
as we play the wind
and winner takes all!

In seasons past
you came in fast
and were gone before I knew:
But in dreams I saw
your ultimate fall
right after my bolt passed through.

Will this then be the year
that my dream will appear
and pause in my shooting lane?
The ultimate foe
whether buck or doe
Excalibur be thy bane...
