Its hard to overstate the importance of your accomplishment. There will be other deer, harder shots and bigger deer that you will hang your tag on, but some of those events will get a bit foggy over time. However this deer, your first deer, will stay with you crystal clear for all time.
You needed this deer, and perhaps at times you doubted if it would come. The rest of us knew it would come. You practiced, you learned, you listened, you watched, you worked on your set-up, you put in your time in the woods and you even had some close encounters. Your success was a foregone conclusion. You earned this deer. Congratulations on a job well-done!
