Oldest Buck in the Bush!

Post by Jackbass »

Went out this morning for a bow hunt before the controlled hunt tomorrow and it didn’t last long! I was running late and made it to the stand by 6:25 and at 6:40am I shot this old wide buck. He doesn’t score great as he has two tines broke off. He is very wide and was well past his ears. He came in behind me after I grunted. He came by me at 10 yards and I put the 4 Blade Muzzy right through his heart. He made it about 60yds. I could hear him coughing and hoped he was down just inside the bush. I was home by 7:00am. Called my cousin at 7:30 and asked him if he wanted to try his new game cart. The buck was lying about 20 feet from where I last saw him. The game cart works great. It made the 400yd pull to the truck a breeze. He is skin and hanging. Now I’m getting ready for the shotgun hunt. Good luck to anyone getting out, Doug.Image Image Image

Just think how many hunters that old guy has out smarted. It is a great thing he gets to be put to good use and had a good clean death. Something he may have not had otherwise. Great job.

Congrats! He's a nice one!!! I would rather have one like that than a perfect rack. You have to look at them and just wonder everything that they've been through and how they broke their points off. Perfect racks are boring!

Congratulations:
It doesn't look like I could even shoot that buck here in PA. We need 3 points to a side at least 1" long.
It would just be my luck to see him too. You got to love the PGC.

Congrats on your nice buck.
Looks like he's been out there mixing it up with the other boys!
