luckeyest deer alive (updated) new ending

Post by munch »

well i would not believe you could miss a standing deer at 20 yards but i can.
i went for a quick sit and had a doe walk right up 20 yards away she stopped with her head and neck sticking past a tree .i had a 00buck in and thought this is a piece of cake won't be a hole in her body shes toast .think again right over her head what a shot i am.can't wait till next week when i can break out the weapon of choice

As my Grandfather used to tell me Terry, if you have never missed, you either haven't hunted long enough, or you're a liar.

That being said, at least I missed at 150 yards and not 20 last Monday evening. But, it was VixChix's rifle's fault. No good Rugers.

well not so lucky this morning .it was a little button buck and he came back this morning after about a 45 min sit .i do need to check this box bf oobuck i changed the barrel on the 870 last night when i got home to see if that was the problem. this little guy came bounding across the creek and turned broadside no more than 40 yards out .i shot and saw no reaction but he turned straight away running i pumped in a slug and he dropped as soon as i pulled the trigger .i'm sure there is something up with these oobuck.i never have been good with a shotgun but don't think i'm that bad

Good job, Terry! Glad the slug got it done for you!

The nice thing about slugs is they're usually "all or nothing."
