Whew!! Finally!

Post by lscha »

We were getting right down to the wire here. I passed on some deer earlier in the season and when I do that I usually end up with zero.
I stayed in the same blind for 5 days and finally put a perfect heart shot on this little guy. I had to, it is the year of the woman hunter!

Hey Laura,Great going. :D Love a girl who shoots a hand gun. Are you using 44 mag loads or 44 special loads. I also have the red hawk 44 mag and find the lower power 44 special loads are fantasic deer killers and easy on your wrist. Do you load your own? It's the only way to go. jmo :)
I am a hunter and proud of it.

I used to load my own but now I use Winchester .44 mag Platinum Tips. They do a nice job. And when they expand, they look like a piece of jewelry!!
My gun is Mag-Na-Ported so the muzzle jump is reduced and is not bad to shoot. Pachmayr grips help too.

Very nice! My next deer hunting goal is to take a buck with a handgun... I've got 2 problems though. The Exocet is awful good at harvesting bucks and Ohio is a one buck state. :(

60 yards. The deer made it 20 yards further. I had plenty of time waiting for the perfect shot. Not a drop of blood anywhere. I had to find him by glassing the woods because he went out of sight when he bucked and ran. Hard to get a blood trail when the heart stops.
