I've been searching for a climber tree stand, was leaning towards the Summit climbers until I came across this stand. Its called the Equalizer tree stand. One problem I've had in the past with climbers as I'm sure everyone has had is after climbing up the tree the stand is not level its either sticking up too high or hanging down. This stand solves that problem with a crank that you can easily adjust the level of the stand.
Was wondering if anyone has used this stand or heard anything about it's performance & reliability?

Re: Tree Stand
Yes, I have been looking at this stand for a year or so. It had business problems when it went to china to have it built. Was shut down for a while and now it seems is up and running. From what I gathered is they are now American made. Good to see them back up and running. I saw one at a Trade show and they work great! Was hoping they would get the business end straightened out. I may buy one for myself. Good luck and thanks for bring their name up again.
Re: Tree Stand
I remember looking at the Buckshot Tomcat's. However, the safest climbing treestand in my estimation (which also can be easily adjusted for severe angles) is the Doc's Recliner. Someday I will be able to afford another to replace what the ex sold! That thing felt like it locked on the tree each and everytime you climbed or descended. I could climb any tree - bent, twisted, crooked, etc - it did not matter. If you can afford the 300-400 bucks, and the 30 pound weight, you might look into one.

I have a Bigshot made by Buckshot stand that is the forerunner of the Equalizer stand and it is a great stand. I looked at the Equalizer stand and decided there was too much to break or go wrong. If I were to get another stand I would seriously look at the Summit line. Summit also has very good customer service.

Thats a good point. There is a lot of things going on with that stand. Summit does seem to be the most popular. Lone wolf's sit and climb is good to but the price is crazy. Good luck.scratcherky wrote:I have a Bigshot made by Buckshot stand that is the forerunner of the Equalizer stand and it is a great stand. Looks a lot like my old TreeLounge. Very comfy, but it required 2 men and a boy to haul around the woods.MarkMarine wrote:I remember looking at the Buckshot Tomcat's.
