The Phoenix does it's job!!

Post by slider »

Has been a tough year with deer #'s certainly down in my WMU....85

Was very lucky on OCT 16th to harvest a small buck on the 1st day out.....since then (about 70 sits) very few deer encounters.

This past Monday morning I finally filled an additional archery tag as a nice young doe gave me a 20 yd broadside shot at daybreak!

This is the blood I found 5 feet from point of impact:

Amazing blood trail and was very surprized the recovery was 120 yds....she even jumped a fence 70 yds from the impact.

100 g spitfires...double lung full exit

Swampy area and she died in a large puddle.

Here she is....by myself so I removed front legs for easier toboggon pull out....also opened stomach to observe diet.

Very fortunate to have this deer grace my table this winter!!

Congrats on getting some fine eats my friend. I agree on number of deer sightings this yr. I live in Mo. & usually see 50+ a season. This yr i have only saw 25 deer

Nice job. I have two Phoenixes and love them. Both deer I shot were from within 20 yards and both were clear pass throughs.
