Sorry about all the trash in the truck. Some jerk dumped all kinds of crap in a pile on the side of the road in National Forest.

Congrats on your beautiful buck and awesome recovery. I'm glad you waited a while to do the recovery it is so easy to be anxious and go and jump the deer to be never seen again. A friend of mine lost an nice buck in Ohio because he wouldn't listen to us when we told him let the deer alone he ended up jumping it 3 times when he knew he had gut shot it. I'm glad you were blessed with such a fine buck. Merry Christmas

Sorry, but with all the holiday stuff going on I skinned him out last night after dinner. Cubed up all but the tenderloin and backstraps today before going to the in-law's for dinner tonight. I should be canning now but I am beat. The arrow went in about midway from the front of his hind leg and exited the other side busting the 4th and 5th rib from the rear. It was a mess inside him but I washed it out good with a hose before butchering him. Not a shot I would like to repeat but, I guess any shot that results in a recovered deer is a good shot.

Man I was pissed off at that, I wish I would have caught them doing it! Public land is for everyone to use, not abuse. It makes me sick that some POS would use it to dump trash.
