If the arrow is inside him you can be sure of one thing.
Every time he takes a step, there will be another cut by the broad head and bring him down sooner.

We're all pulling for ya.

We found him. Arrow is still MIA. Followed a very sparce blood trail, drop here, drop there for about 20 to 30 yards. It must have taken that far to fill his chest, because after that it was an easy recovery. Got lucky and got the back of the lung on the exit side. He ended up being a 10 and not a 9, had a kicker on his far side g2 I did not see. Biggest buck I've taken with my crossbow, I am really happy with him and greatful for you guys suggestions. I'm really grateful I had people to help with the recovery and got home before diner time. I've got a beautiful wife and I want to keep her!!! She has never complained about my hunting, but made it clear I was to be home for diner. I did get a couple pictures in the truck before the sun went down, I'll get them up in a day or two. Thanks again.

Well that's good to hear.
I'll bet it was easy once you calmed down and took a fresh look.

You know where the buck was standing when you shot.
Locate the buck's hair from the exit wound.
That will point you in the general direction.
If you know someone with a metal detector, that might make it easier.

On the other hand you may walk right in on it next time you go in, since you won't have the weight of a lost deer on your mind.

I'm glad you found him, we all know that feeling when doubt sets in whether or not you'll find him. Deer are amazing animals in what they can do when hurt. I've had a doe, double lunged, that went 300 yds and the bolt was 25 yards past her and all that was showing was the very tip of one of the vanes, another that fell within site, and my last one went 200+ yards and when she went out of site, her tail was straight up like she wasn't even hurt. The bolt was covered in bright red blood. She went through some of the thickest stuff I have ever seen and I was on hand and knees following a drop here and a drop there. Wasn't until I was within 20 yards of her that I found blood with bubbles in it. Finding them at the end of the blood trail is "the thrill of victory".
