The best sandpaper that I've run across is floor sander, sand paper. I cut it up and it last far longer than any others. I get the 80 and 100 grit and than use regular sandpaper for the rest.

Sanding will be a pain I bet, I think it is the worst part of building anything  Not that I build much but have tried a few things. Believe it or not I got an A+ in grade 8 work shop and an A in metal shop.

Now someone will have to come help me put my parts on that new stock, (hint hint Big John :D )

Here's another useful tool for your shop or around the house. Attach sandpaper to a 10-inch length of 1-inch diameter PVC pipe. I glue two grits on the pipe, 60 or 80-grit on one side, and 100 - 120-grit on the other.

To fasten the sandpaper to the pipe, cut the sandpaper to size, then spray the paper and the pipe with adhesive. Let the surfaces set a few minutes before placing the paper onto the pipe. When the sandpaper is worn out, simply peal it off and apply a new one.

Use various diameter pipe for different radii.

Pvc pipe and sticky spray. Great idea! Never can have enough ways to do it. Thanks!

I put an curvy edge to give the trigger finger area a better look. Got to be careful of the rail channel. The hard part is making a duplicate on the other side. You know if I made them all the same I would quit making them. Be bored to death. Now I am in heaven! :D

It takes a lot of sanding guys. From 80grit to 230grit with jewelers glasses on. NO way around it.

Yes I do, but thats right before the finish goes on. You wet it and sand the hair off and repeat untill nothing comes up. Your getting ahead of the build along.

I am starting with 80grit from the back to the front. Got to keep those edges sharp.

An added unforseen bonus to the chip broadhead version is it gives a great grip.
