Might be able to sneak in a couple of hours tonight. Out last night, but no luck. Felt great just to be out again though. :)

Had tied the bow and dropped it. Just ready to undo the harness and 3 deer walk out. Geez up comes the bow and i slide an arrow in as quietly as possible. I'm looking at 2 yearlings and a large doe. Didn't have a good shot at the doeand decided the herd needed her more than i. Took a shot at the larger yearling which behaved like a young buck. Clean hit and short recovery in the rain. Tough year overall and i was glad to get a great eater.

Good luck on the last day and Happy New Year

Way to go DanO! You recovered effectively & successfully from every hunter's nightmare! :) Congrats on closing the deal!

I think each of us has that nagging feeling when we lower the bow that we're just about to spot deer! :D

Congrats Dano onthe kill and recovery, my season ended this past Saturday I saw 4 deer Friday 2 young does an 2 small bucks. I was holding out for an adult doe or a shooter buck which didn't happen Saturday so I was happy with the 5 deer I had already taken. Good Luck to everyone that still has some time left.

Wow, 5 deer, there be must be a load of deer where you are. I can only take one in Nova Scotia a season and that has to be a buck, unless I put my name in for a doe draw. Never have won a doe tag. If I want to and can travel two hours away there is a zone that I can get a doe tag for $5.00 extra and shoot a doe. this year was a bust for my health and for deer.

Thanks folks. Thinking next year I'm going to just go with one tag and once filled move on to steelheading. Having that outstanding tag plays huge games with one's competitive head. It's weird eh! It's only $30 bucks or so and yet I passed on alot of other activities I like just as much in order to fill the tag. I have to say though it is very addictive!

Happy New Year. Sorry about your close "encounter" MadMax. There will be better things in the New Year.
