Our dog is from the Mastiff family too, and it's true, they know who's friendly and who not. Glad to hear there was no damage or confrontation and your pup sent a message, that should keep them away! Great looking dog too!!

It's not the size of the dog but the size of the fight in the dog.

I've never had an issue with any dog, big or small, but then I don't have any nefarious intentions towards them or their owners.

Any dog is better than a security alarm. I use mine to protect me and I protect him in the home. Outside I use lighting with motion sensors.

Dogs and good lighting make for a secure property. So do steel doors and quality deadbolts. If they want in, they will make a lot of noise!

Dogs are protective of their family and homes
Trouble is we never listen to them

I gave my dog hell one nite for barkin, only to
find out the next day someone was in the yard

Told her I was sorry for not paying attention when she
was doing her job

Congrats to your good boy. Well done!

Good dog! I have 2 a lab x and a bluetick and both bark when they should. They even guard the neighbours barn if anyone pulls in their drivway or on the side of the road. They are nice as pie if you know the dogs or if they know the sound of your vehicle as being someone who comes often but they also know when to protect. Those hounds look dopey and calm until you see them snarl

We have a monster Akita and she is extreamly protective of our persons and home. I love having the big gal around.
Only thing that scares me is here in Canada we are likely to be sued by the bad guys because our dog bit them on our property and thats no joke.
Grats to you mastiff.

Awesome dog! He was doing his job. I have a little rottweiler that is worth his weight about 120lbs in gold. :D

Glad to hear it Chris. He sure does grab your attention when he barks  .

I was thinking about it after you texted me the other day and it was also about the right time for some one stumbling home from the bar to mistake your house for another. I'm not trying to downplay it, but it just occured to me that if someone had really tied one on at the bar and they were going back to a friends house (alone) they had only been to a few times, then they may have tried the wrong house.

It can happen. I'm not proud of it, it was college, and a long time ago but it happened to me. I couldn't figure out why the key didn't work.  Luckily the neighbour was in good humour about it.

Either way, it wouldn't be bad to take a second look at your security and keep that dog sharp!

If there was no sign of an intruder, then your dog may have had a snack.

Great looking dog!
