Post by lswoody »

Will be purchasing my first Excal crossbow in the next month or so and would really like to be able to store it in a hardside case. What is out there, where can I find it and how much are they????? Thanks!!!!!

For a hard case that Mana 1133 is the way to go. They are a bit stingy of the number of straps but you can get more at your local hardward store for under $10.

A double gun case works well, just take stirrup off and bolts holding riser to rail. Goes back together w/ no change in poi.

I called them up and asked for four more straps and within two weeks they mailed me the complete hardware bag exactly like the one that comes originally inside the case.

Welcome to the forum and good idea to go with an Excal, you won't regret it. As everyone has said already the Plano Manta case seems to be doing the trick for evryone. :)

My wife bought me the Manta case for my birthday. It's great and you can it from Sportsmansguide for under $100.

They look like a good case with lots of protection

They also look to be very big, when its open it looks huge

Do you find they take up a lot of space?

my padded T case is big, but I can fold it up
when not in use

That's a great price! They've come down quite a bit in price from when they first came out.

Yes that is a downfall, it is BIG, and not only takes space in the house, but in my small car  but its solid and when I take off hunting for the week Iwill be able to pack stuff on top and all around it with no danger of damaging the bow.

I don't have room for that big case in what I drive, would scoop one up quick if I drove a pickup or something else big enough to spare the space.

I bought a Plano case for compounds, modified some of the straps and can transport at half the space, with all of the needed accessories.
