There is another post with more detail but for those that havent read, John is a very helpful and giving member of this forum who has suffered some health issues and is in pain every day and that often keeps him stuck at home. He still gets out to hunt but now with company and from the ground. He suffers a week for every day he goes out but like all of us the addiction and desire doesnt leave you. He lost his bird dog JD in December and needs a new buddy but not being able to work makes this hard. He is a man with pride who doesnt accept things so we are forcing this upon him. $1 or $100 - whatever you can afford would be helpful.

(You can be mad at me later John  )
To be a vegetarian is to listen to the live carrot gradually screaming as it drowns in a pot of boiling water …. Which is more ethical to you ??

John,
I hope you don't think of the donations other members send as "charity".

I know in my case it's more of a "pay it forward" gesture.
A generous member gives a gift (I know in my case I've received several) that we are grateful for, but have no way to repay in terms of money or goods.

This type of situation provides some of us with a big heart and small bank account a chance to give something that will be appreciated and used by the beneficiary, and when the need arises that person can "pay it forward" in return.

I think of this situation as providing a good home to a needy pup. I'm sure it will have a life of luxury when you adopt it.

Is there an option for sending a money order or cheque for those who don't have PayPal like myself. I'd hate to see a pup denied a good home!

I will check and see if I can arrange for a check or money order to be sent to Bugs or someone in canada for John. Sending it to the US to me makes no sense. Someone in Canada would be better. Let me do some checking and thanks for your wanting to help out. :D

I sometimes receive chqs for US funds - it's never a problem to cash at the bank. The amount is slightly different b/c of the exchange rate, but no problem cashing it into Cdn funds.

The reason why we started with Paypal is because of the time restraints. Paypal is fast. A check from say the US takes longer to get. If you plan to send a check please do it right away.
