Question about the Axiom

Post by bigbrowntrout1 »

Hello again,

I finally wrapped my hands around an Excalibur today(not many places carry them in Colorado), it was a Vortex. I haven't been able to actually see an Axiom yet and it got me wondering, is that brace that holds the limbs together and attaches them to the crossbow base at the end of the rail on the Axiom aluminum or is that too SMF composite material? I'm assuming it's aluminum but just wanted to check.
Also, I think I'm pretty certain that I want a 175lb draw weight xbow, but is there a good rule of thumb to consider for going up poundage to 200 etc.?

The riser is aluminum. I was in same place two weeks ago and ended up with the Vortex. Go for it. The 200 lb. is easy to cock for me and I am 62 with a torn rotator cuff in right shoulder. I did not think I could handle it. Decocking is a piece of cake.

Look at Black Bear Sporting Goods site for a great price.

Ten point has a recurve crossbow called the flex .The limbs go into differnt holes on the riser to lenghten or shorten the draw . I think it goes from 125# to 180# Neat idea but I don't know if I would ever use it.

g'day hank, mate what a about a D-loop but made out of heavey duty xbow string, l cant think of a reason why it would'nt work, it would just need to be wide enough to go otver both sides of the rail for your rope cocking aid to grab the D-loop instead of the serving. l thought of it a while back but yet to try it out  8) it would allow a 225 lb crossbow to be a 175 lb bow there abouts 8)
