"every now and again"??? . . . you are hauling something to the freezer every day! 8)

Got to watch those guys with the Vixens . . . they're killers.

All depends on your limitations, short in stature, short in arm length makes it more difficult. I my case two previous back surgeries made (repeated) cocking the 225 bow less than enjoyable. I could do it but not as often as I want to shoot.(every day if possible) Now hunt with a Vortex or Phoenix and can shoot either without straining my back...esp the Phoenix. Also found the shot from the Equinox more harsh (vibration) as well as being harder on serving and targets. Personally I didn't need the hassle for 15 fps more. But, if ya gotta have the baddest...
Vortex, Phoenix, single-shot rifles and handguns.

Why hunt? Simple, it's BASIC. Why breath?!

The only "disadvantage" I can think of is that the 225 lb-ers would be a little harder on the string servings than the lower poundage bows. Probably a good idea to get a backup string or 2.
