bolt ?s

Post by mbc4 »

new to crossbows; I just bought the vortex, regular string ,shadowzone scope,
no bolts. i've always fletched my own verticle arrows, was wondering if an easy fletch straight one degree would work on 2219xx,2216xx and if so what size vanes (recomendations) reasons for these is I have quite a few of these arrows. also for flat nock would plastic eastmans work? have a bunch of alluminum
inserts and trophy ridge steelheads 100gr need advice thanks
better an overkill than an underkill
vortex,vixenmaster string
2219s, abc steel sonics

Welcome!
I suggest purchasing "the Bolt" replacement arms for you EZ fletch (under $15). The one degree arms you have are "OK", but the "Bolt" arms have the perfect offset for the arrows we use. Yes, we call them arrows. The "bolt" EZ and 2" Blazers will give you you best flight characteristics in my opinion. Either the Eastman plastic or aluminum inserts will work as a rear flat nock.

X2 on above post, yup you can cut off alum. inserts & use them fer back nock. Just chamfer the edge on them. Steelheads are good mech. used them fer a few yrs myself

thanks for tthe advice! just got my votex today, can't wait to launch a few
''arrows''(excited). I think i will get the bolt head as suggested for my e-z fletch
2'' vanes, in the mean time I will fletch a few with 1 degree straight and see
what happens (4'' vanes). I will keep ya posted!!!

update! fletched three 2219 arrows with 70 grain brass insert 4 inch fletchings with the one degree straight easy fletch tool and 100 grain field tips; this is insane every shot in a one inch circle out to 30 yards and winds are 20 to 30 mph. will shoot futher at camp. Any fixed BH suggestions reasonably priced?
thanks
