Do whatever works best for you, there are no set rules
I use them, but i'm in my 70's and i don't have a steady aim any more
GOOD LUCK TO YA

Ok guys, ive studied your responses & have come to a conclusion. I will start a routine to strenghten with only the effort required to steady my aim to accomodate sumner4991 (by the way you sound a lot like my father) & to accomodate Papa Bear 1 the day I turn 70 I will purchase my first trigger stick
All that aside i appreciate both of your suggestions,
Thanks alot guys, Hoagy
Doesn't take much of a workout to steady your arms. Just grab your bow and aim at something. Hold it up until you are shaking all over. Rest for a minute and do it again. Do this twice a week until the season starts.
Don't even have to shoot it.
This doesn't help with buck fever at all. . . just saying . . .
I'd rather wear out than rust out.
Perception trumps intention.

I have one and thought I could get away
with using one on a tree stand. It became
more of a hinder than an asset! Won't hunt
with it again from a tree on the ground, yes.

Found the Horton KneePod to be very beneficial to steady my 71yr old aim, esp from sitting position. It's light, sturdy, adjustable and inexpensive. Even has a snap/cord to attach it to your pack.
