Got my Bear back from the taxidermist

Post by PABOWDUDE60 »

I finally got my bear back from the taxidermist last night. I'm still waiting on the skull. I will set it on the base by his rear foot.

NICE! Congratulations a good bear. Who did the work? What was the turn around time and what did it cost you? (If I'm being too nosey please pm me.) I'm from PA and taking my first spring archery bear hunt very soon. Hopefully, I'll be needing a taxidermist as well.

Nice mount! Crossbow or gun kill?
I never had anything mounted but the deer (gun) from last year was tempting! :D

I shot him last spring on May 15 in Quebec. I used my Exomax. 17 yd shot and about 50 yd recovery.
I went to my local taxidermist in Columbia, PA Bruce Davis. I dropped him off at the end of May last year and picked him up last night. So around 10 months. He's also going to be doing my Deer from last year. He just got all the capes back last week for the deer. He is very reasonable on his pricing. The total for the Bear ,base and skull was $1800. I checked some others and they wanted at least $2600 for the same.

That's a very nice looking bear mount. Very nice indeed. :)

Are all those beer cans empty or full?
