Took the boy last year with me and we got one the first time out. Figured that would kind of hook him on it. Got him a 20 gauge last fall, and then a turkey choke, some shells, and a couple of calls to start playing with that he could call his own, but he doesn't want to go this year. Our Youth Only season is this weekend, but it doesn't look like we'll be going.

I sure wish our MNR or whoever is the decision making entity behind a youth hunt would loosen the reigns a bit for kids. Kudos to those who take them along, or at least present the opportunity.

I'm ready, turkey vest is packed, slate is sanded and the bows and guns are ready too.
Birds showed up late last week like clockwork, all that is left is the waiting.
