Have you been sleeping lately? That is one for all the major holiday already :D
To be a vegetarian is to listen to the live carrot gradually screaming as it drowns in a pot of boiling water …. Which is more ethical to you ??

Dang, Stan you better dip that barrel in a bucket of water to cool it down. I think you should lswitch to crossbows to give the bird a chance. 8) :D

Guess I know nothing about turkeys. That second pic I was trying to figure out what that was coming out from behind the wings and it turns out the bird grew fingers. OK, does it have teeth to.

Now for the story.
I got set up this morn at 6:15 first thing i noticed was the wind . i was awful..and it got worse..the trees were bending over ,crap was flying everywhere, limbs falling...i have never hunted in that kind of wind but i figgured ,,im here i may as well hang for a little while. good daylight by 7:00 hearing everything but turks.. made a few yelps and clucks with my foolproof . waited ten mins and repeted..
about 7:20 i was thinking..this is foolish no turk will be out in this wind. im wasting my time..then out of the blue..
Gobble!!! picked up my box..yelp yelp yelp pause..cluck..
GOBBLE!!!! oh man ..i put my call down.waited waited ..
there he was 80 yards across the little creek comming down the mtn. :D 60-70 yards away he started struttin..for 15 mins or so (felt like hours) i didnt make a move or a sound ..was holding on to my little blind because the wind was about to blow it away..
he would strutt back and forth then hang tight then do it again but i could tell he didnt want to come any closer..
little by little he would work down but what he wanted was my decoy to go to him..she wasnt cooperating  i do think the wind moving her back and forth helped some :D
i got my little slate and made some real soft purrs and that did it..he made his move ..stepped across the creek right where i wanted (not that they ever do or that i had a say)
but it was his last love walk 8) Boom!! funny i never got excited till then..but boy was i messed up
The Lord realy blessed me this year. And i want to give Him all the Praise..
Stats are 20lbs-10 3/4" beard - 1 1/16 spurs...
and he had been shot before  found some of my shiney copper shot and some old narley lead..
