I was just talking about getting a 20 guage because it may be easier on my shoulder. It isnt the one shot that would hurt it is the practice shooting. What kind of gun is it? Congrats again on the bird and having such a nice quick morning out. Is the rest of the family going?

Real nice turkey Terry. Congrats to you. :)

I've been wanting to add a 20 guage to my gun safe as well. Nice little guns and they won't beat up my girls as much when they shoot.

tara i'm taking a fellow from work out thursday night then my son aaron sat. maybe my sister sunday. kristin is still iffy .that little gun is a remington 870 jr. i bought it for kristin because she is so small but i take it 9 times out of 10 myself now .it's so easy to carry and maneuver in a thick spot. i would get rid of mt 12 gauge long before this gun. it's really shot a lot of game in the last 4 years. aaron has his own high standard 20 ga. but has not shot anything with it yet. he is going bear moose and deer hunting this fall with my brother and i .he wants to shot a bear with my girly gun he says ( 450 marlin ) its a 458 winchester cut down 3/8"
we call it the girly gun because its a 1895 marlin looks a lot like a daisy red ryder till you look at the hole in the end or shot it .the thing kicks so hard it will make you cry like a little girl.he says he thinks we should go practice, shells are about $48 for 20

Congrats on the bird, I've shot my 20ga Charles Daily semi-auto at 3 turkeys and killed all 3 with a Jelly Head turkey choke. I switched to a 20 Ga about 4 years ago and I haven't looked back.

Congrats on the bird munch! :D Talk about making it look easy!

Tara, I had been wanting to get my little boy a youth model Remington 870 20 gauge, but had a little Mossberg 500 Bantam 20 gauge drop in my lap last summer. For the money, I couldn't pass it up. What little I've messed with it, it seems like a really nice gun and comes with 2-3 stock extenders so you can keep the right fit for while the kid is growing.
