For those who have taken the stock off, how thick is the material in the area below the safety? There is a relatively sharp corner that makes the grip a bit uncomfortable. When hunting with gloves there should be no issue but I notice after about a 45 minutes of target practice the trigger hand starts to feel it bite.
I'm thinking about sanding or filing a radius to smooth out the corners, but I don't want to break through or otherwise weaken the stock. Is anyone familiar with how well the synthetic stock material sands, carves, and accepts paint? I know this will bugger up the pretty camo, but I just don't want to compromise the structural integrity of the stock in that area. I figure that this would be an easier and less expensive than the ultimate solution of a custom stock

No worries Mark, you can take that edge and sand it down or round it to be more comfortable. Some black and brown marker and nobody will ever know.
