Ideas On How To Display / Store Xbow’s

Post by ParkerSxS »

I’m looking for some ideas as to how to hang or display my x-bow in the man cave. If any of you have pictures and or ideas please post them. This bow is just way to cool looking to store it in a closet.

Thanks :)

This is what I threw together quickly based upon what I remembered seeing on the Excalibur instructional DVD.

This is very simple to put together if you have access to a table saw and at least a hand drill. Certainly this could be expanded upon to hold the quiver or individual bolts etc.

I made sure that the mounting screw/nail was in a wall stud.

!x6 rough cedar wall to wall, rubber covered hooks from local home center. With 1x you can mount stuff anywhere along wall, not just at studs.
NOTE: long horns mandatory for a TEXAS man cave

OK now you got me. I'm not sure where I thought I had seen this approach to hanging a crossbow. In Excalibur's DVD catalog there is a section describing the history of Excalibur and it depicts a small evolutionary arsenal hanging on wooden racks.

I guess when I saw their racks I automatically figured with a dado saw cut the stirrup would keep the xbow from twisting and eliminate the need for the extra wood lip. I'm pretty sure I've seen it somewhere I just can't remember where.

I also added the wood saddle to hold the fore grip to prevent the butt of the stock from swinging into and marring the wall.

Parker SxS, Is that a para cord sling? Where did you find it? It looks great with your bow. Congrats on the bow hanger, it sure looks a lot nicer than my 1x6 and hangers.

That sling really caught my eye.
Went to the seller's store and found even more.
Great looking stuff at reasonable prices.
Also just to note these items are made and sold by a veteran.

Nice work. With your approach you can hang to crossbow with the quiver attached; that is one regret I have with the one I made.
