crossbow targets

Post by UPSMAN »

Just purchased my first ever bow of any type (excalibur equinox). I need to buy a target for field tips & broadheads. Do I need 2 targets or is there a single target that will work for both heads.

rhinehart 18-1 would be my suggestion. It guaranteed to stand up to anything you can throw at is for a year and will last you for a long time. It is self sealing so you can hardly see where you have been shooting. Not the cheapest one around but it will outlast any other target I have run into so far.

I would also recommend giving Danny Miller a call and buying a set of his arrow puller. If you shoot much at all they will save you some blisters and are well worth the price.

I have a Rhinehart Rhino block, this is my first bow target so I cannot compare, but I like the different targets on it and the fact that on one side the target has a replaceable section for when using broadheads. I have not tried a broadhead on it yet, but field tips do not go in very far, and are easy to remove.

Good information. Since I got my excalibur my traditional archery target has been taking a real beating.

You don't need to bother a dealer when we have Danny Miller for a resource, lol. He makes all of Excals strings in Sardis, Oh and is cheapest I've found on accessories, fwiw. Phone only at [740] 483-2312.

Oh, almost forgot, Welcome to the forum...........

the Rhinehart targets are top notch. there self healing ability is superior to just about anyone. with that being said, i DO own the block black crossbow target. i had a gift card for xmas, and they had it marked horribly on sale, ended up getting it for roughly 45 dollars. it does not self heal, but it has stopped my 325 FPS firebolts out of my vortex constantly pounding them into the center circle... well over 200 arrows into one spot and the 200th one went in the same depth as the 1st. of course arrow removal is a little rough....
