Sorry to hear it man. Don't know much about it, but my wife's father had diabetes. He lived to the age of 89 I think. Always watching what he ate and drank though. No cake, pie, or anything like that. He drank a glass of some home made wine I had once and had to do an insulin shot.

i do about 6 shots a day every time i eat and whenever my blood sugar is high like this i am supost to be around 5.5 to around 10.0

I do not now much about this disease so all I can say is to take care and watch your diet and get lots of exercise. Prayers are sent for you young man.

My grandfather gave up on the shots when insulin pump technology met his standards and never looked back. He lived until 78, when something other than diabetes did him in. One of the young ladies at our church went the pump route and says it's the best thing she has ever done. Is it something you have ever considered?

Hang in there bro. My wife is the same way. She's at around 6 a day. Was on the pump but the cost is ungodly. Never saw a meter like yours at first I though you had a bad low. She's been insulin dependent since 8. The bad think about it is her suger will go crazy both ways. Hang in the, eat right,chech often and exercise.

Do yourself a favor. Get the insulin pump. It will add years to your life, literally.

The Ontario Government will pay for it under the Assistive Device Program (ADP)

I have had one for 7 years and was taken off due to my a1c was too high so they put me on needles I have been diabetic for 9 years
