Putting out a Hunting Challenge

Post by Doe Master »

Thought that title might get attention for this serious issue .
Now I know there is all kinds of serious diseases out there but I figured this one touchs the most people .
I am putting out the personal challenge to get your arrows this year done up in one or three colours of CANCER .
I feel pretty secure in my masculinity so I`m going to go with a pink , black and something combo .
To help in colour choices

That works too Georgiaboy .
The black is for my mother who has been battling Melanoma piece by piece . A close friend of my sisters lost her husband on Boxing day to it as well .
The pink is for different people I know.
And the more I think about it maybe light brown for the kids .
I got this idea while watching a video . One of the guys shot a deer with an arrow someone had given him for breast cancer . Figured we could expand it . :)

I'll just think about the color grey when I take one of my best buddies who has brain cancer hunting this year.

Will be making some up this week or next . Lost my dad to lung cancer that migrated into his bones . No amount of morphine could make him comfortable with the pain . He died the day before my birthday June 27 ,1994 . Lost my mother to lung cancer in 1999 , Doctors thought she had pneumonia . Both were smokers and had quit but could not have been soon enough .

Good idea. My arrows are adorned with orange (leukemia) and white (lung). I've lost family members to both.

Well, I'm not sure what colors to use. My Dad passed away in 1991 with what they called Metastatic Cancer. I know he had lung and liver cancer due to heavy smoking, and heavy drinking of hard liquor (alcoholic).

So, I guess I'll go with a base color of white, and go from there.

I already have my arrows done up in pink with matching wraps. We lost our oldest daughter Jessie to cancer 7 years ago she was 22. And she was my hunting buddy since the age of 3. She was always with me, now she still is I look at the fletching's and think of her.

I agree with others - a wonderful idea and thank you for the color chart as, before I saw it, I assumed pink was the only color indicative of cancer - was unaware so many others were so symbolized.
