Home Made Deer Feeder Help

Post by Galgo »

Hi All.

I am looking to make a deer feeder out of 3 or 4" ABS pipe. I think I saw a design posted here but my search was fruitless. Can any one help? Thx.

Frank, feeder kits are not expensive. They can be made with a 20 liter pail and hung up so the vermin have a hard time getting to them.
Here's just one example.

Thanks Don i do own a Moultrie feeder that I am happy with but the spot I want to place makes a dispersal type feeder a bad option. That's why I am looking for a tube-type feeder that the deer actually have to take food from...

This is what I use.
Just recently sent photos to a friend.
Poor sketch but he got the idea.
Drive it down until the elbow lays on the ground.
As the deer paw at the corn more comes out.
May be the last time they paw, and for some it has been :D

I made a couple that are similar to this one but I mount them to a t-post pounded into the ground. Each one hold about 20 lbs of corn so I don't have to fill them too often.

Mine are very similar to this. Exact same at the bottom feeding part but about a 5 foot piece of pipe up top instead of the bucket. I do like the bucket though. Much lower than the top of mine and probably a bit easier to fill. I might mod one of mine and give it a bucket on top. :)
