Boots

Post by omega5m14 »

Here in East Tennessee, during deer season, it'll
be 70 degrees one day and zero the next. Been
looking at Rubber Boots for the upcoming season
and especially the Under Armour H.A.W.
uninsulated boot. Anyone have any experience
with this product?
How about some suggetions for weather like this
in a rubber hunting boot?
Thanks in advance,
Dano

I did. Reviews, even on the LaCrosse site weren't that
good. Biggest complaint was durability. They don't last.
At least that's the majority of the reviews I read.
Thanks though,

I just retired a pair of LaCrosse knee high rubber boots that lasted 10 years and endured the most God-aweful abuse a boot could be put through. I wore them all summer long while scouting and setting stands and i am in the woods literally every week-end. After ten years they finally developed a couple leaks but would still be great for dry days. I just decided it was time to put them away. The treads are literally gone and the bottoms are mostly smooth. I can't even make myself discard them they served me so well. I have two new pair, insulated and uninsulated and would never consider another boot after what this last pair showed me about real quality.

I should post a couple pictures of them. The soles and such. You would all be amazed.

Hot weather - I'm a Rocky snake boot man.
Cold weather - Rubber snow boots I got for an elk trip years ago.

Figure on dropping at leat a bill on each pair.

I have both the Lacrosse Alpha Burleys and Muck Boot Woody Max. I much prefer the Muck boots. They're lighter, more comfortable and much easier to take off. They are also much warmer. I have 2 pair of pa ck boots which I haven't worn since getting the Woody Max. If it's exceptionally cold, I just add some toe warmers. Any rubber boot will be hot and sweaty in warm weather.
I can't tell much difference in the two when it's hot, except the Muck Boots are far easier to remove.

t imagine the lacrosse boots wearing out quickly. Ive had mine for 8 years and still dont leak.Im thinking a pair of the uninsulated snake boots this year in Ohio. I could use them for turkey season and early bow season. But have always loved my Lacrosse boots as long as i was not gonna have to walk great distances.

Check out the Guide Gear line of rubber boots on the Sportsmans Guide. I just replaced a pair of the 1,000 gram Thinsulate boots after using them for about 8 years deer and turkey hunting mainly (but for anything that I needed a rubber boot for actually). At $45 you can't go wrong.

I just got a pair of Muck Woody Elite boots shipped for $128.00 off ebay. I have only worn them around the house a little so far but dang if they are not the most comfortable boots I have ever worn.
My nephew swears by his after 2 years of usage and he has pretty much tried them all. He says they are the first that ever kept his feet warm in late season.

I've had the Arctic Pro for 3 years now. I've worn them for Turkey in the Spring to coyote hunting in snow shoes until March. I pretty much wear them every day. Nothing ever kept my feet dryer or warmer they're rated to -60 degrees if active. They definitely fit small so buy larger especially if heavy socks are worn. The only place they wouldn't be great if you hunt in thorn trees or Cactus bush areas the tops are a insulating foam covered in cloth but the foot area is thick rubber with great support.

They have great reviews. Put them on my
list to research more. Rated at +60 to -40 so
they might be a little warm for my area but
Muck makes other boots
