Gearing up ..cant wait!!

Post by strum »

the season opens here the 8th of sept..so im getting the itch....
hung a stand yesterday ..been gathering gear..(where did it all come from)
I decided to try somthing Wabi does this year..
He sights his crosshairs in at 25 yds and figures a 30 yard shot may be a tad low but still in the KZ and 20yds a tad high but still in the KZ
Im not comfortable with a shot over say 35 yrds so i think it will work out ok for me..

My season starts on the 26th of Sept so went to put up my ground blind the other day and found that a tree had fallen exactly where I normally put the blind  sure glad it fell now and not while I was in the blind.

The down tree brings back memories, lol, I recall shooting 3 deer out of the same one in the late '70's w/ a Barnett Commando...............

I was sitting on stand last November when a tree decided to fall a few yards from me. Luckily it fell away from me. I can assure you that it did indeed make a very very loud sound.

I,m ready got my licence yesterday and got all my stuff packed in my backpack that I don,t take hunting but keep in my truck so I have everything and not going to sight in at 30yds like last year because I shot high on so many deer . I will have my hha on 20yds this year and have better luck I hope.

My gear has been ready to go for awhile now and my license just arrived in the mail yesterday so I'm good to go. :)

Our season also starts Sept. 8 and I can hardly wait.

This year I am using a Shadow Zone sighted in at 25 yds. I've been shooting it for a couple months and it works very well. All I have to do is be sure the shot is 30 yards or closer. At 30 yds it's about 3" low. From 5 to 25 yards I just hold where I want it to hit and it's within an inch either way. If its past 30 yards I'll have to remember to hold over a little.
An added benefit is that I can use the variable power and it doesn't change the POI
